Abu Dhabi, UAE (Urban Transport News): Autogo, a leading UAE-based autonomous mobility solutions provider under Kintsugi Holding, has launched trials of its cutting-edge RoboTaxi service in Abu Dhabi. This marks a significant step toward full-scale deployment by 2026, positioning the emirate at the forefront of smart transportation.
The trials are being conducted in collaboration with Apollo Go, the autonomous mobility arm of Baidu, a global leader in large-scale self-driving transportation. The initiative aims to bring next-generation mobility solutions to Abu Dhabi’s roads, aligning with the emirate’s vision for smarter and more sustainable transport infrastructure.
Working in coordination with Abu Dhabi’s Integrated Transport Centre (ITC), the trials will assess the RoboTaxi’s compliance with local transport policies, regulations, and infrastructure needs. These self-driving electric vehicles are equipped with AI-powered navigation, real-time responsiveness, and advanced safety features, ensuring a smooth and efficient urban transport experience.
Autogo’s RoboTaxi is designed not only to revolutionize convenience but also to improve road safety by eliminating human driving errors. The all-electric operation contributes to reducing emissions, alleviating traffic congestion, and reimagining the future of sustainable smart cities.
At the core of this initiative is the 6th-generation RT6 RoboTaxi, purpose-built for autonomous ride-hailing. Featuring an advanced AI-driven system, it promises a safer, smarter, and more comfortable ride experience. As the first company in China to introduce fully autonomous ride-hailing, Apollo Go has leveraged AI, big data, and automation to enhance urban mobility globally.
Sean Teo, Managing Director of Kintsugi Holding, emphasized the transformative impact of RoboTaxis on urban transport:
“The launch of RoboTaxi trials in Abu Dhabi marks the beginning of a large-scale transformation in mobility. These autonomous taxis are a game-changer for road safety and sustainability.”
Autogo and Apollo Go will rigorously test the technology in real-world conditions, engage with the public, and prepare for a broader deployment across Abu Dhabi by 2026.
Apollo Go, also known as Luobo Kuaipao, has emerged as a global leader in autonomous ride-hailing. With over 150 million kilometers of autonomous driving experience and 10 million ride orders completed by March 2025, the platform continues to set benchmarks in safety and innovation.
With Abu Dhabi embracing AI-powered mobility, Autogo’s RoboTaxi service is poised to redefine urban transport, making the city a global hub for autonomous and sustainable transit solutions.
