Authority plans to connect Faridabad with Jewar Airport and Gurugram Metro

Faridabad, India (Urban Transport News): Urban Mass Transit Company (UMTC) and Faridabad Metropolitan Development Authority (FMDA) have prepared a new roadmap for the development of Faridabad city. Under the new Comprehensive Mobility Plan, Faridabad Metro will also connect Noida's Jewar Airport with Gurugram. According to the plan, all high-level traffic facilities including the metro, buses will get better connectivity. With this, while people will get excellent traffic facilities, their journey will also become easier.

FMDA is working on several schemes for the smart city Faridabad. The development plan was prepared by the Urban Mass Transit Company (UMTC). This plan, designed keeping in mind the year 2041, will now be sent to the government for approval. It also includes several developmental works including strengthening public transport, strengthening infrastructure in the form of roads and flyovers.

Dr. Garima Mittal, Additional Executive Officer, FMDA, said:

A plan has been prepared to make the city smart as a transport under the CMP. This is FMDA's plan for the year 2041. Under the scheme, Faridabad Metro will connect Noida's Jewar Airport with Gurugram. Apart from this, high-level traffic facilities will be provided to the residents.

She said that in the Comprehensive Mobility Plan, FMDA has given special attention to public transport. By the year 2041, about 2,220 city buses will be run in the district. These will be launched on the roads in different stages. 431 km of routes will be set for their operation. People will get bus facility every minute on the lines of foreign countries. This will make people's way easier.

The comprehensive mobility plan prepared by the company focused on strengthening the connectivity of the city in every respect. Around Rs 28,400 crore will be spent on the metro, city bus, road, flyover, bus terminal, facilities for building separate freight corridors for heavy vehicles. Of these, a large part of the budget will be spent on the construction of a network of about 145 km of metro up to Noida, Jewar Airport, Gurugram.

According to FMDA officials, 58 flyovers will be built at various places under the Comprehensive Mobility Scheme to strengthen road connectivity in Faridabad. This will help people get rid of the problem of traffic jams and reduce pollution. It is planned to be built on the main roads of the city including flyover bypass. Apart from this, roads will be widened to 60 meters.
