Afcons Infrastructure bags ₹4,151 crore civil contracts for Delhi Metro Phase 4

New Delhi, India (Urban Transport News): The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Limited (DMRC) has issued two work orders with combined value of Rs 4,150.70 crores to Afcons Infrastructure Limited for the construction of underground straches of two metro corridors of Delhi Metro Rail Project, Phase 4. 

Contract Package DC-07

The first work order was issued on 13th January 2022 with contract value of Rs 1669.20 crore (Rs 1669,20,96,000.00) for Design and Construction of Underground UP & Down Tunnels by Shield TBM from end of Cut & Cover tunnel near Sangam Vihar Metro Station up to existing Sarita Vihar depot, Underground Ramp and Cut & Cover Tunnels near Sangam Vihar and Tughlakabad metro station and Underground Metro Stations at Maa Anandmayee Marg, Tughlakabad Railway Colony and Tughlakabad including Retrieval/Launching shafts on Aerocity Tughlakabad corridor of Phase IV of Delhi Metro Rail Project.

Tender notice for this contract package was issued in June 2021 and technical bids were opened in August 2021. Financial bids were opened in November 2021 where Afcons Infrastructure was emerged as lowest bidder among other three bidders. The bid value of all four bidders are as under:

  • Afcons Infrastructure Ltd: Rs 1,669.00 crore (L1)
  • ITD Cementation India Ltd: Rs 2,070.00 crore (L2)
  • GÜLERMAK Ağır Sanayi İnşaat ve Taahhüt A.Ş.: Rs 2,254.00 crore (L3)
  • Larsen & Toubro Ltd (L&T): Rs 2,412 crore (L4)

Afcons Infrastructure Ltd has to complete tunneling of 6.981 km section under the above contract package in 42 months. This section is part of 23.622 km Silver Line (Aerocity – Tughalakabad) of Delhi Metro Rail Network.

Contract Package DC-05

The second work order was issued on 14th January 2022 with contract value of Rs 2481.50 crore (Rs 2481,50,59,151.65) for Design & Construction of Twin Tunnel by shield TBM, Tunnel by Cut & Cover, Underground ramp at Derawal Nagar and Six underground stations viz. Derawal Nagar, Ghanta Ghar, Pulbangash, Sadar Bazar, Nabi Karim & Ramakrishna Ashram Marg Including Architectural Finishing, Water supply, Sanitary installation, Drainage works of stations on Janakpuri West to R.K. Ashram Corridor (Line-8 Ext.) of Phase-IV of Delhi Metro Rail Project.

Tender notice for this contract package was issued in June 2021 with an estimated amount of work Rs 2444.828 crore. Technical bids were opened in September 2021 and financial bids were opened in November 2021 where Afcons Infrastructure was emerged as lowest bidder among other three bidders. The bid value of all four bidders are as under:

  • Afcons Infrastructure Ltd: Rs 2,481.00 crore (L1)
  • ITD Cementation India Ltd: Rs 2,547 crore (L2)
  • GÜLERMAK Ağır Sanayi İnşaat ve Taahhüt A.Ş.: Rs 3,445 crore (L3)
  • Larsen & Toubro Ltd (L&T): Rs 3,475 crore (L4)

Afcons Infrastructure Ltd has to complete tunneling of 7.46 km section under the above contract package in 42 months. This section is part of 28.92 km Megenta Line (Janakpuri West – RK Ashram) Extension of Delhi Metro Rail Network.
