AECOM India wins General Consultancy contract of Mumbai Metro's Line 10 and Line 12

Mumbai, India (Urban Transport News): The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) today opened the financial bids of the tender notice floated for providing general consultancy services for the upcoming two metro lines viz. Metro 10 (Gaimukh - Shivaji Chowk/Mira Road) and Metro 12 (Kalyan - Taloja) of Mumbai Metro Rail Network.

As per the financial bid results, AECOM India has got the highest score and emerged as the lowest bidder among the other four consultancy firms. The position of each bidder is as under:

  • AECOM India Pvt. Ltd.: 78.830
  • AYESA – Korea Rail Network Authority JV: 73.692
  • SYSTRA MVA: 71.433
  • SMEC Holdings Limited: 70.793
  • DB International: 67.328

The selection was made on the Quality-cum-Cost Basis System (QCBS) method in which the winner’s selection is made through a combination of points scored in technical and financial evaluation by the tender committee.

Tender for the appointment of General Consultant for Civil work of Metro Line 10 (Gaimukh To Shivaji Chowk (Mira Road) and Metro Line 12 (Kalyan to Taloja) was invited in July 2020 and technical bids were opened in October 2020.

Line-10 will be a 9.2 km extension of the 35.2 km Line-4/4A (Wadala-Kasarwadavali-Gaimukh) with 4 stations at Gaimukh Reti Bundar, Varsova Char Phata, Kashimira and Shivaji Chowk. The line will also form an interchange with Line-9 at Pandurang Wadi, where possibly a fifth station could come up for providing easy transfers.

Line-12 will be a 20.75 km extension of the 24.95 km Line-5 (Thane-Bhiwandi-Kalyan) with 17 stations at Ganesh Nagar, Pisvali Gaon, Golavali, Dombivli MIDC, Sagaon, Sonarpada, Manpada, Hedutane, Kolegaon, Nilaje Gaon, Vadavali, Bale, Waklan, Turbhe, Pisarve Depot, Pisarve and Taloja.
