Mauritius Metro Express is a Light Rail Transit System that will connect a 26-km long metro corridor from Curepipe to Immigration Square in Port Louis with 19 stations.

RITES Limited: Project Supervision Consultant
Singapore Cooperation Enterprise (SCE): Consultant for feasibility study report, preliminary design, alignment, transaction advisory, and management services.
Aurecon: Technical advisory services consultant
Larsen & Toubro: Design and construction of stations and viaducts.
SMRT: Consultant for providing technical inputs for public transport integration, operation, and maintenance planning, and operational safety.
Orfisa: Consultant for Engineering, Architectural, and Documentation services.
Construcciones y Auxiliar de Ferrocarriles (CAF): Supply of Signalling and Rolling Stock (18 nos. of train sets with 3-car composition).
Timelines
July 31, 2017: Mauritius Government signed a contract for the construction of a light rail transit system (LRTS).
October 3, 2019: The first phase of the Mauritius Metro Express project was jointly inaugurated by Mauritius Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
