Kanpur, India (Urban Transport News): The Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) Ltd. invites global e-tenders on International Competitive Basis (ICB) from eligible and experience civil contractors for the construction of 4.65km unerground stretch (including three metro stations) of Kanpur Metro Rail Project.
Design and construction of TBM tunnel, cut and cover tunnel, underground ramp from Kanpur Central end of Nayaganj station to elevated ramp after Transport Nagar and three underground metro stations (viz. Kanpur Central, Jhakarkatti and Transport Nagar) including architectural finishes, E and M, TVS, ECS etc. on Corridor-1 of Kanpur Metro Rail Project, India.
According to tender notice, the European Investment Bank (EIB) will provide the financial assistance for this contract package. In July 2020, EIB had approved Rs 5,661 crores (€650 million) for excution of civil work and system contract for Kanpur Metro Rail project.
The first phase of Kanpur Metro Rail project is comprises of 23.785 km metro corridor between IIT Kanpur and Naubasta with a total of 22 metro stations. Out of 15.164 km section will be elevated and rest 8.621 km section will be underground. Civil contract worth a combined value Rs 769.23 crore & USD 36.74 million for construction of about 3.619 km underground section (Permat Ramp – Nayagan) is awarded to Gulermak – Sam India JV in January this year.
