Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya issues admission notice for Rail, Transport and Logistics courses

Vadodara, India (Urban Transport News): Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya (GSV), a newly created Central University, is India’s first University in the Transportation and Logistics sectors. The academic programs at Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya (GSV) focus on the technology, management and policy dimensions to address the emerging opportunities in the domain. The Executive Council of the GSV reflects the amalgamation of Industry, Academia and Government working in synergy to address the sectoral challenges.

Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya (GSV) invites online applications for admission to the following academic programs for the academic year 2023-24:

Engineering & Technology Stream

B.Tech. in Civil Engineering (Specialisation - Rail Engineering)

Civil Engineering involves the creation and advancement of infrastructure, inspiring ingenuity and originality to meet the ever-evolving demands of society. The results of such efforts are remarkable structures such as highways, modern railway/cargo stations, ports, smart cities, bridges, tunnels, sea links, monuments, stadiums, statues etc.

B.Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering (Specialization: Rail Engineering)

The program develops competencies related to Electronics communication, signaling, embedded systems, Internet of Things etc. It incorporates technologies enabling safe transport operations (e.g. KAVACH, Cyber Security, Traffic control).

B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering (Specialization: Rail Engineering)

The program focuses on core manufacturing processes, materials, machine tools, tribology, thermal, refrigeration and air conditioning, rolling stock, rail-wheel interactions, high-speed rail systems, railway operations etc.

B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering (Specialization: Rail Engineering)

The program intends to develop competencies and skills for the analysis and design of electricity based transportation systems such as electric locos, electric vehicles, propulsion and traction systems etc.

B.Tech. in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science (Specialization: Transportation and Logistics)

The program incorporates the latest technologies in the domain of Artificial Intelligence & Data Science. The program will enable the student for various career aspects such as Data Scientist, Business Analyst, Researcher to tackle real-life problems in the field of Machine learning, Statistics, knowledge discovery, and data visualization. Graduates will be able to handle various challenging problems in logistics and transportation such as network optimization, traffic monitoring and control, predictive asset management, IoT enabled warehouse management etc.

Management Stream

MBA (Logistics and Supply Chain Management)

The program is designed to develop a strong foundation in theories, methods, and tools for managerial and analytical skills for design, integration and coordination of supply chains at multiple levels, bringing innovative and dynamic solutions to a fast-paced business environment. Specialized courses offered in areas such as logistics & warehousing systems, supply chain strategy, freight transportation and revenue management to develop an interdisciplinary perspective.

MBA (Transport Economics and Management)

The program focuses on building a strong foundation in theories, methods and tools needed to design, organize and supervise transportation systems. Students are offered specialized courses in areas such as managing investments of transportation systems, designing multi-modal transportation models, intelligent transport systems, environmental impact of transportation systems and traffic management & control to develop an interdisciplinary perspective.

Admission Procedure & Eligibility Criteria

B. Tech. Programmes

• 10+2 Exam with Physics, Chemistry & Maths- Science Stream with minimum 55% marks in PCM subjects. For SC/ST/OBC candidates, the minimum marks are 50%.
• JEE (Main) 2023
• Admissions to the B. Tech. programs will be based on the 2023 JEE (Main) scores.
• Last date to apply online: 11th June 2023

MBA Programmes

• Bachelor's degree in any discipline with Mathematics or Statistics as one of the subjects, with aggregate marks or CGPA/CPI of at least 55% (50% for OBC/SC/ST candidates).
• CUET-PG (2023)/CAT/MAT/XAT
• Initial screening will be done on the basis of valid scores of the Entrance Test i.e. CUET PG (2023) or CAT -2022 or XAT-2023 or MAT-2023. The shortlisted candidates will be required to appear for personal interviews online mode. Admissions will be offered based on the composite scores of Entrance Test Score, Personal Interview Mark, Past Academic Performance, and Work Experience.

• Rs 250/- for SC/ST/PWD candidates

Yearly Course Fee 

• B.Tech. Programme: Rs 2,72,000/- with Hostel Charges
• MBA Programme: Rs 2,42,800/-
