New Delhi, India (Urban Transport News): Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (DMRC) invited global e-tenders from the Rolling Stock manufacturers to supply 288 standard gauge cars for upcoming corridors of the Delhi Metro Phase 4 project. The tender notice was issued in two parts on June 18, 2021.
Part A: Design, Manufacture, Supply, Testing, Commissioning, Training of 234 Nos. Standard Gauge Cars for Extended Sections of Line 7 & 8. Out of 90 coaches (15x6) or 15 trains will be used on the proposed Pink Line Extension (Mukundpur to Maujpur, 12.098 km) and the remaining 144 coaches (14x6) will be used on Magenta Line extension (Janakpuri West to RK Ashram, 28.92 km)
Part B: Design, Manufacture, Supply, Testing, Commissioning, Training of 54 Nos. of Standard Gauge Cars Including Comprehensive Maintenance up to Fifteen Years for These 54 Nos. Standard Gauge Cars for Aerocity – Tughlakabad Corridor. A total of 9 trains (9x6) will be initially deployed for this corridor having a total length of 23.622 km.

This contract package will be funded by JAPAN INTERNATIONAL COOPERATIVE AGENCY (JICA) as per the loan agreement signed on March 26, 2021. JICA will provide financial assistance of Rs 8,390 crores.
