Systra bags traction consultancy contract of Patna Metro Rail project

Patna, India (Urban Transport News): French consultancy firm Systra MVA has emerged as a single qualified bidder for the Detailed Design Consultancy (DDC) services for the 25 kV OHE system, traction & power supply, and SCADA system for phase I of Patna Metro Rail project. Only two bidders Systra MVA and Ardanuy Ingeniera SA-Ardanuy India JV had submitted bids against the estimated cost of work Rs 4.36 crore by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Limited (DMRC).

SYSTRA MVA Consulting (India) Private Limited has quoted Rs 1.44 crore and bagged the contract as the quoted value was found 44% lower than the estimated value of the contract. Apart from this, the second bidder Ardanuy Ingeniera SA-Ardanuy India JV was not technically qualified, hence its financial bid not opened. The scope of work includes Detailed Design Consultancy for Design of 25 kV Overhead Equipment (Traction) system for Elevated Line and Power Supply & SCADA for both Underground and Elevated Lines including checking of Design of Receiving Substations and Design Validation of Two Corridors of Patna Metro Rail project.

The firm has to complete the work in three years. The tender for DDC for the above traction consultancy work was floated in January this year and technical bids were opened on 18th February 2020 and subsequently, the financial bid was opened on 4th March 2020. Last month, DMRC has awarded consultancy contract to AECOM for providing 4 years detail design consultancy (DDC) services for civil, architectural and building services including electrical and mechanical (E&M) works for Corridor 1 & 2 of the Patna Metro Rail project (Phase I).

The construction tenders will be floated by DMRC after finalising the revised alignment of the north-south corridors of phase I of Patna Metro. Jaipur based CEG Group is conducting geotechnical and soil testing works at various locations on the routes of proposed corridors of the project.
