State proposes Metro, Monorail, MetroNeo and Airport for Warangal city

Hyderabad, India (Urban Transport News): In order to make good transportation connectivity for the citizen of Warangal, the Minister for municipal administration and urban development KT Rama Rao has proposed Metro, Monorail, MetroNeo, and Airport. He want to develop Warangal on par with Hyderabad city.

Speaking in a review meeting, the minister said that the monorail for about 15 Km will be launched in Warangal and an Airport in Murumuru. He also assured to bring 29 km of ring road available for the public by June. The total length of the road which is under development is 68 km. Warangal is not only a historic site that glorifies the richness of Telangana, but it is also a great heritage site all over India. Warangal is also one of the rapidly developing places in the state of Telangana.

In an attempt to further develop Warangal and make it into a functioning city like Hyderabad, KT Rama Rao proposed metro rail and airport to Warangal. KTR further added that a master plan has been approved for the development of the Kakatiya Urban Development Authority (KUDA). This plan has been designed to make sure that Warangal would be developed fast and in the right way that would make everyone in Warangal proud.

In a bid to speed up the metro project in the state, the Telangana government has recently given the task of preparing a detailed project report (DPR) for Warangal MetroNeo to Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation (Maha Metro). A memorandum of undertaking had been signed between the State Government and Maha-Metro in this regard last year December. With the new plan Warangal will secure a place in the list of top cities, KT Rama Rao said.
