Rahee Infratech wins track work contract of Line 6 of Kolkata Metro Rail Project

Kolkata, India (Urban Transport News): The Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) last month on June 21, 2021 opened the financial bids of track work contract for Nicco Park – Titumir section of Line-6 of Kolkata Metro Rail Project.

According to the bid results, Rahee Infratech Limited emerged as the lowest bidder to supply and install ballastless tracks. The second bidder was Texmaco Rail & Engineering Ltd. The financial positions of each bidder is as under:-

• Rahee Infratech Limited: Rs 122.59 crores (L1)
• Texmaco Rail & Engineering Limited: Rs 132.45 (L2)

The scope of work includes construction of Double Line Ballast Less Track (BLT) for elevated viaduct portion between Nicco Park having (Ch. 13841.585 M) to Titumir (Ch. 25891.527 M) including points and Crossings, etc. In connection with Construction of Metro Railway Corridor from New Garia to Airport Corridor of Kolkata Metro Rail Project.

The estimated cost of work is Rs 130.48 crores while the Rahee Infratech has quoted below the estimated cost and there is much chances to get the final work order from the RVNL. The contract has to complte the work in two years from the date of issuance of Letter of Acceptance (LoA).

Tender notice for the afforesaid work was floated in February and technical bids were opened in April this year. A total of 7 firms namely Ram Enterprises, Rahee Infratech Ltd., Tomar & Company, Shelke Construction, Deepak Singh, Subhash Infraengineers Pvt. Ltd. and Texmaco Rail & Engineering Ltd. were submitted their bids. However, five firms did not qualify the terms of contract during the technical round evaluatipn phase.

This 12.05 km Nicco Park – Titumir section will have a total of 11 stations and this section will be elevated. This section is under construction by Afcons Infrastructure Ltd (under Contract Package ANV3: NICCO Park to Sub CBD-1) and ITD Cementation (India) Ltd (under Contract Package ANS3: Sub CBD-1 to Titumir).
