LMRC celebrates its second Metro Diwas, launches "Lucknow by Metro"

Lucknow (Urban Transport News): The Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation Limited (LMRC) today celebrated "Lucknow Metro Diwas" to mark two glorious years of the successful commercial operations of metro services. To guide the tourist of Lucknow, the LMRC also unveiled a tourist guide "Lucknow by Metro" in the ceremony.

The second foundation day ceremony was organized at the auditorium part of Centre of Excellence for Training situated in Transport Nagar Metro Depot. The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Dr. Dinesh Sharma as chief guest and other dignitaries. Principal Secretary, Ministry of Housing and Urban Development Deepak Kumar were also joined the ceremony.

The programme began with the lighting of the lamp by the eminent Chief Guest Dr. Dinesh Sharma in the presence of Lucknow Metro Managing Director, Kumar Keshav, other senior officials and staffs of LMRC to celebrate the second Lucknow Metro Diwas 2019.

The programme was followed by the unveiling of a book titled “Lucknow by Metro” and Lucknow Metro Corporate Film in the auditorium. During the event, Gold and Silver Medals distributed to the selected LMRC employees for their outstanding contributions in the successful implementation of the Lucknow Metro Rail project in the city. The MD’s Gold medal and MD’s Silver medal carried a cash prize of Rs 5,000 & Rs 3,000 respectively along with a certificate of appreciation.

Addressing the gathering at the programme, LMRC Managing Director Kumar Keshav said,

We should continue to be a role model in the Mass Rapid Transit System (MRTS) and we dedicate this day to the Lucknowites for their support and cooperation during this journey of two glorious years which has added 1.5 crores passengers along the way.

Apart from the above, Lucknow Metro's Hazratganj Metro Station bagged the 'Best Metro Station Award' for the year 2018-19. A memento, certificate and a group cash prize of Rs.10,000 were given to operations staff in recognition of their outstanding performance for upkeeping the metro station up to the mark.
