Four Firms Bid For Bhopal Metro's Second Civil Contract Package

Bhopal, India (Urban Transport News): The Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MPMRCL) on July 13, 2021 opened the technical bids for the second civil contract package BH-02 which was invited for the construction of eight metro stations under Phase 1 of Bhopal Metro Rail Project.

As per information shared by the MPMRC, a total of four constrcution firms have submitted their bids for the contract package BH-02. The names of the bidders are as under:-

  • Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd (RVNL)
  • URC Construction Pvt. Ltd.
  • Bansal Constrution Works Pvt. Ltd.
  • YFC Projects Ltd.

Scope of works of this contract package includes, Design and Construction of Eight (8) Elevated Metro Rail Stations including Viaduct portion within the stations and Transition spans on either side of the stations (AIIMS, Alkapuri, Habibganj Naka, Habibganj, M.P Nagar Zone-1, DB City Mall, Kendriya Vidyalaya and Subhash Nagar) for Bhopal Metro Rail Project.

The estimted cost of work is Rs 421 crores. This section is part of 14.2 km Line 2 of Bhopal Metro Rail Project (Phase 1) which will be funded by the European Investment Bank (EIB). This line will connect Karond Circle to AIIMS through 16 (elevated and underground) stations.

The civil contract package BH-01 was awarded to Dilip Buildcon Limited with an order value of Rs 247.06 crore for construction of only elevated viaduct between Subhash Nagar and AIIMS in October, 2018. The firm has been given a deadline of 27 months to complete the work. However, there is no much progress seen by the Dilip Buildcon Ltd.
