EOI invited for selection of General Consultants for Chennai Metro Phase II

Chennai, India (Urban Transport News): The Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) has invited expression of interest (EOI) for the selection of General Consultant (GC) for the remaining section (corridor 4) of Phase II of the Chennai Metro Rail project. The main objective of the services is to provide General Consultancy Services in assisting Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) in preparation and implementation of Phase II of the Chennai Metro Rail Project.

Scope of work

Selection of General Consultant (GC) for the Chennai Metro Rail Phase 2 Project (Corridor 4).

Eligibility Criteria

• Experience of similar assignments substantially completed/in progress in past 10 years for General/Project Management Consultancy (PMC) work pertaining to medium metro system (system designed to cater PHPDT above 20,000) or large metro system (system designed to cater PHPDT above 45,000) or suburban/urban/MRTS railway projects involving the work of basic and detailed designs, preparation of specifications, preparation of pre-qualification and bid documents and tender assistance, checking designs, project management and supervision including construction supervision, safety, environment management, and quality, testing and commissioning of the work.
• Substantially completed/on-going works during last 10 financial years of similar work as stated above with either one work of Rs 2000 million or two works of Rs 1,200 million each or three works of Rs 1,000 million each; and
• Financial turnover of the firm in the past five financial years.

• Notice Issue Date: 11.01.2020
• The pre-application conference is scheduled on 27.01.2020 at 1500 hrs.
• The last date for submission of EOIs online is 22.02.2020 till 1800 hrs.
• The draft Terms of Reference (TOR) can be downloaded from the official website of CMRL and Central Government's e-Procurement portal.

Instruction to Bidder

Expression of Interest (EoI) must include the following:-

• Introductory letter on letterhead (with complete contact details – the name of the contact person, mailing address, telephone, fax, e-mail etc.) explaining how the firm(s) is/are best to deliver the task;
• Organization profile;
• Annual reports for the last 5 years;
• Short note on the similar projects implemented by the Consultant Firm pertaining to the shortlisting criteria; and
• Details of relevant similar projects undertaken in the past 10 years.

The EOI should contain sufficient supporting documents to substantiate the claim of the Consultant towards their qualification as per the short-listing criteria.
