Kolkata, India (Urban Transport News): The Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) on 19th February 2021 notified e-tender notice for the supply and installation of Signalling & Telecommunications system for Line 3 (Joka – Esplanade) and Line 6 (Kavi Subhash – Biman Bandar) of the Kolkata Metro Rail project.
Scope of work: Design, Manufacture, Supply, Installation, Testing and Commissioning of CBTC based Train Control & Signaling Systems and Telecommunication Systems for Kavi Subhash – Biman Bandar Metro corridor (32 km) & Joka – Esplanade Metro corridor (16 km) of Metro Railway Kolkata in West Bengal.

According to the tender notice, purchase preference will be given to Make in India in accordance with the provisions of the revised ‘Public Procurement (Preference to Make in India) Order 2017’ issued by the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry vide letter no. P-45021/2/2017-PP (BE-II) dated 28.05.2018.
In this connection, the minimum local content shall be 50% and the margin of purchase preference shall be 20%.
